Around the Majors Today: Excellent slate of games

Great day for a baseball fan.

Strike out artists all over the bigs today.
    Big time flame throwers.

These are insane K per 9 IP ratios:

    Sale 10.53
    Lester 10.21
    Mad Max 10.64
    Darvish 10.42
    Greinke 10.03

In additon to those monster studs you got Tim Hudson getting the rock out there in San Fransisco.
Hudson owns a 0.88 WH/IP in nine starts, and that's after the Rockies roughed him up last start.
0.88 WH/IP and a 2.13 ERA, those are Pedro and Maddux type numbers.
That start is no a slam dunk, Cubbie hitters have hurt Hudson in the past.

Dream Weaver also gets the start today up there in Seattle for LA.
Like Hudson, his start is not a walk in the park either, that Elias can really pitch for the Mariners, he's one of those 'could be a very good one' youngster. Nasty lefty.
Not to mention Cano is getting real hot, he's up to .332 and mashing, he's got help too, Seagar is legit, that Jones at the top of the order looks like a player, Smoak can bomb them even though he can't hit for average, Ackley is a sneaky hitter too.

Talk about up and comers, Alex Cobb is healthy and he's going up a borderline Hall of Fame Mark Buehrle.
Cobb's numbers in four starts are like Hudson's, ungodly. 1.40 ERA and 0.86 WH/IP is as good as it gets.
Do we even have to speak about Buehrle's fantastic career?

Lance Lynn and his Cards go up against the Yanks in St. Louis.
Lynn can strikeout double digits on any given start too, will his walks get in the way tonight?
Good matchup with another younster Phelps, even though Phelps has been around awhile.

Cole Hamels gets a Philly start today.
    Matt Garza too.

But the monster, must see, feature game has to be Detroit at Oakland.
    Sonny Gray versus Mad Max.
My goodness, talk about a great matchup.

The two best American League teams.
Sonny Gray already in the legit class, even the doubters are sold on him.
Oakland does pretty much every thing right, fundamentaly sound, and can hit too.
Max, Tiger strikeout machine, and his thumpers Hunter, and A-Jax, and V-Mart, and Kinsler, aand Miggy.
You got to crush them to get the ball out in Oakland, can Gray keep them in the park, can Max keep Oakland off the bases?
Wow ! What agame this could be.

    You like lefties?
You got eleven of them starting tonight.

    DeLarosa
    Niese
    Hamels
    Stults
    Miley
    Buehrle
    Sale
    Elias
    Greinke
    Lester
    Chen

There are three games with totals of 6.5 or under listed.
There are several more with 7 flat.

If you think all this great pitching holds to form, the salami is 119 total runs.

    Great day for baseball

Usually is the case when you get monster matchups

One or two games go 12-7 or 14-6 and mess up the under.

    Hitting is horrific on MLB

It's why you see the good pitching stats

    Batting 235 the norm now

From a fan's standpoint it's a really great day for matchups. Interested to see if Sale can finally get through the Tribe which he struggled against and if Scherzer can overcome his last pitiful outing against the A's who look like they are heating up again.

Nasher the card doesn't look good for betting though, you see anything you like yet?

I got a long weekend, and I'm entered in a four day 10,000 dollar 11 dollar entry fee at Draft Street so I spent, get this, three hours on all the numbers, yeah, I like Cobb tonight.

Sale just went from -160 to -155, bam! just like that.
    Don't trust Sale tonight.

Since you like Cobb tonight, what about the Under 8.5?
Looks like a relatively low scoring game, especially thinking Cobb can slow down Jays offense.

Yeah, look for Cobb to throw a gem tonight, they won't hurt Buehrle much either.

Cobb kinda stands out to me too as the best play. Possibly the only one though.

I was a sucky golfer, which is why I don't do it anymore, anh-hoo, could not hit a driver off a tee straight for shit, so I would usually tee off with an one iron.

Well here's the good news, if I lose with Cobb, you win.

Des Jennings and Longo say hello, even fat boy Molina has taken Marky-Mark deep.
And Escobar always is a Blue Jay pain in the ass

    http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/batvsp...4/mark-buehrle

Take Rasmus's 3 for 8 out of the equation, that .211 becomes like a buck eighy
    http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/batvsp...1086/alex-cobb

Yeah, I'll take plus money with Cobb, wrong team is favored here.

We (us FBB get a lifers) always go toe to toe on this topic.
I am in the BvP is very relevant camp, there are others that think like you.
Case in point, I won 150 dollar league yesterday, know why?
Because this washed up guy (the guy at first base) has a history of owning Chris Tillman, like six lifetime big flies off of Tillman.
Why do you think I started Overbay yesterday? He was dirt cheap, and BvP dictates he'd do that (go deep)
I got him dirt cheap, freed up cap room for Braun, and that's how you win the money, honey.

    Shit, did not load right.
