Brad Diamond: Play Mets Even Up at Atlanta

Play Mets Even Up at Atlanta

The Mets pounded the defending World Champions into submission while sweeping the Cards to open the season, and they now look to continue their recent success in Atlanta.

The Mets hitting machine looks to be in mid-season form, as the Amazins opened the year by scoring 20 runs in three games while sweeping three games in St. Louis.

Friday's starter, left-hander Oliver Perez (3-13, 6.55 last season), was brought to the Mets as a reclamation project, and he did close out strong last year and put together a solid spring. While the Braves are still 48-22 in the last 70 meetings between these teams in Atlanta, the Mets have reversed history lately going 9-2 in the last 11 games here. This recent streak includes a perfect 5-0 when the Mets have been the underdog.

The Braves are also 3-8 in their last 11 games vs. southpaw starters, so I will side with the Mets as a very small dog here.

    Play: Mets Even

This is one tough game IMO. The only way I could play this game is the over 9.5.

I have a slight lean towards New York tonight.

I agree Brad. I got the Mets +102. Let's cash it.
