    You can laugh now, but......

The Fish are going to steal this division.

I already made a play on the over for their preseason win total of 64.5 I still don't know what the oddsmakers were thinking with that one... I already consider it to be cashed

I thought this division was over and now Atlanta looks like they are done

Every year goes by and more and more you don't need High price players to win

And they go about their business real quiet, Stanton isn't all about him, even though his homers destroy inaimate objects, they believe they can win, and they do win.

The 'x' factor is Casey McGhee, he can both rake, and pick it.
Cubs thought he was crap, had two very solid years with Milwaukee, bad third year, they dump him.......

Typically, if you get dumped by the Cubs, that typically catapults your career.

Maybe , if the Marlins played every game at Miami but this team sucks roosters on the road. They have a .309 team batting average at home but a horrendous .215 average on the road.

You need to win near .500 of your games on the road to win a division and the Marlins will end up at least 30 games under .500 away from Miami......sorry Nash but they are not winning the division.

Agree that they need to start winning on the road to prove themselves.

That's definitely a dogshit division, though. 87-75 might win it.

ya i dont see them winning the division, but much better than last year. so definitely a team to keep an eye on. should have more +ev cashes than most teams this season, is my prediction for them.

    0% chance of this happening.

And the Marlins are basically my 2nd favorite team.

Fun to watch, Fernandez wins CY Young this year.
Stanton needs a bat in front or behind him, he has neither.

They can't do shit on the road, and their offense, although raking at home, fails to show up away from Miami.

I'm rooting for them, they have some great young talent like they always seem to come up with over the years, but still at least a year away and a couple of veteran signings to help out.

knew their pitching was solid but I am very surprised by their offensive production. Atlanta definitely has issues and their pitching will even out, they might not even make playoffs. Hoping Mets are at least in it until the All Star break. With all that being said its still the Nationals division to lose. They should be able to win it.

how's that trade to the Jays offseason last year looking now? some of the pieces, swapping shortstops hechavarria and reyes. Reyes has been injured for most games and hechavarria is hitting near .300 (and I assume has been a stud on defense as well). Henderson alvarez pitched a no hitter last year. and he's had a few more dominating starts. Josh johnson doesn't even pitch for the jays any more. bonifacio is hitting +300 for the cubs.

I've discounted the marlins early this year and paid for it. but now they definitely have my respect

    Why?
For what reasons will the Marlins suck in the second half?

Your Red Sox suck becuase you dumped Ellsbury and now have nothing at the top of the order, than you piece of shit fans of yours boo him, why? He was never offered a contract, what did you expect him to do? Retire?

Im not a red sox fan..never was and never will be..so don't know where you get that assumption...they boo ellsbury because he was a complete pussy here..if he had a splinter in his finger he would miss 20 games. 2nd half of the season is a different animal than april and may...(btw salty behind the plate..he cant throw out a cripple at 2nd base.

I know, that may hurt them, I have said this several times in the past.
Mathis has a 30 percent CS ratio, which isn't that bad.
SD is dangling Nick Hundley to any team, but his arm ain't Johnny Bench, or even close either.

You can't get good defensive catchers, today they are all hybrid 1B/3B/DH types like V-Mart, or Santana, or Mauer....
And the ones that play stellar defense and call good games with rifles like Molina, not the fat one in Toronto, are locked up

Niese v. Eovaldi tonight, two sound pitchers.
I want the Mets to show me something tonight if they are to be taken seriously.

    Niese can steal this one

classic overreaction. Look at their starting rotation last year and tell me how many of them logged in a season's worth of innings pitched. Second half of the season likely won't be so hot for the Marlins.
