man Billy Beane is really pissing off A's fans

trading Bartolo Colon, Brett Anderson, and letting young go too!

damn't . This is why you can't have favorite teams anymore. No loyalty whatsoever.

Hell, even Jacoby Ellsbury joins his arch rivals team.

    Rediculous

from the AP: "While the Money was an issue for Colon, what really made him go to the Mets was the fact they included his own personal:"

The guy needs to be fed.

    Christ.
Mets going out of their way to make sure they are fukkin losers yet again next couple years.
First the washed up cokks Granderson and Young- a pair of .210 hitters who will combine for 15 hr's and 350 strikeouts between them, now I gotta watch this fat, 8 chinned Puerto Rican meatball wobble down to first when he nubs a ground ball at the plate.
This team is a laughing stock.
The signings make no sense for a team trying to rebuild.
If you're gonna spend money, spend it right.

    These fukkin Wilpons gotta go.
    Alderson is a stain too.
Sell the team and let someone who wants to actually win buy them.

some of you guys act like you have never seen Bartolo pitch before.

I wouldnt be shocked if he wins cy young next season. The guy can flat out pitch.

say what you want about his weight but he is a fukkin stud on the mound.

What a Mets thing to do. Colon was pitching on smoke and mirrors this year- next year he will absolutely melt down. Does their front office have a single analytics person? Anyone who has passed high school algebra even? Wow.

when was the last time you saw him pitch? Its a 40 year old guy getting a 2 year contract. Its a horrible waste of money for the Mets. Not gonna contend this year so why go out and sign a 40 year old who might have another half a season left? He was solid for 1/2 the year last season and thats with pitching in Oakland.

    18-6 with a 2.65 era last season.

guys this a 2 year deal not an 8 year deal.

i dont have a favorite baseball team i keep it all business so i can handicapp objectively
BUT if i was a Mets fan i would be very optimistic about next season.

Colon, Wheeler, Niese thats a pretty nasty big 3 in my opinion.

give those guys a little run support and hey maybe yall will be in the hunt for a wild card.

and everybody is all over matt harveys nuts...

what good is he going to do the mets next season?

Bartolo Colon knows how to pitch. Hes a bulldog and an inning eater.

The guy will give you 30 starts next season if he dont get caught for HGH again

Bear you're not taking into consideration where he pitched the last few years. Half' that stadium is foul territory.

that is true and yes it is the most pitcher friendly park in the AL West.

The Mets park is pretty pitcher friendly too though.

Anyway i've seen a lot worse signings

I don't think it's a bad signing necessarily, Mets park is not too bad in ballpark diametrics, I'm sure he'll have success there too. I am however concerned by injury issues, as most ppl have said - dude is pushing 40.

All Colon needs is a "clean" Puerto Rican to piss for him. New York has one or two of those.

You're outta control in this thread BB.
Mets are garbage, the move is awful and makes no sense. They have been dumping players and trimming payroll the last couple years trying to get into rebuilding mode. Then they dump 100 million between 3 guys that are absolutely worthless for a team's future.

Let's not forget Colon was pitching last year for the contract he got this year.
He's not getting another one now.
He will tank like all Latino's do when they get the money they want.

This was a pathetic signing! In May Colon will be 42 years old, fat as hell and last year was a freak. If he even plays half of the year I will be surprised and even then his record will be something like 3W-8L with an era of around 6.50. The Mets should have applied that cash towards more offense to go with Wright and now Granderson. As far as pitching goes they do have Niese, Wheeler, Gee, Hefner and Harang. A 42 year old is not gonna do anything except keep the trainers busy!! That slob Colon was busted for steroids while playing in Oakland, that's not what the Mets need. Oakland pitcher Bartolo Colon is latest MLB player suspended for steroid use

Mets could have thrown that 20 million at the reliever Nathan. Tigers grabbed him for 2 year 20 million and Mets need a closer, not a 42 year old slob on steroids!

u guys are hilarious in here.

they paid 10 million a year for a guy that finished 6th in the AL Cy Young Award voting last year. that is a fuking steal. pitching doesn't come that cheap these days. Scott fkn Feldman is getting paid more then that.

who cares if he flames out? they are rolling the dice that it works out. if it does they hit paydirt. if it doesnt then big deal they eat 10 million for TWO years straight. this is still a New York market. 20 million dollars is nothing to them.
