Only two batters in the last 50 years have posted a .400+ batting average against a pitcher they had at least 100 at bats against. One of them is Mike Schmidt who owned Rick Reuschel to the tune of a .403 batting average in 129 at bats.
The other batter to do so actually hit .400 or better against two pitchers (min 100 AB). Who was that batter and who were the two pitchers he slaughtered?
Bee, I thought maybe it was Boggs or Gwynn versus some chuckers, but other than that I have no idea. Seeing the Pirates are involved, I'm obviously going in the wrong direction.....Dave Parker maybe for part of the answer???
Not Parker, though that is a good stab at it since Cobra did own a few pitchers in his time: .391 vs Steve Trout, .362 vs Eric Show, .406 vs Dan Schatzeder, .392 vs Fred Norman and .444 vs Lynn McGothen...just didn't get the 100 AB against them to qualify for this answer.
