Freeman was just above average until well after the Braves had already run away with the Division.

Freeman was great in August and Sept but, it wasn't really that valuable.

Braves really had a handful of guys that were hot during various months. They had no one guy that was indispensible, they had alot of guys have very good years, with very great months.

Upton in April and May is an example.

I normally am not a fan of giving the MVP to a pitcher, but maybe this year I would vote for one. I think that it could be argued that Kershaw, Wainwright and Kimbrel all had more of an effect on their teams than any given positional player. If I had to vote for a positional player though, I'd go with Goldschmidt.

MVP awards aren't as big a deal as they used to be.

I couldn't name most who won it the last 5 years or so for either league.

ok... You're going by stats im going by who is more valuable You would be the only person I've ever heard including Espn Talking headex- players that say Puig wasn't responsible for saving dodgers season and Mattinglys job...mattingly even admitted it that puig basically saved his job...pretty much the day he shows up the dodgers turn around begins...but drinker says hes as team MVP
