    this has to be wildest Pennant race and Wild Card race in both leagues in MLB hstry

    the drama night after night is incredible.

    Pretty done year overall. Most divisions are decided. NL Central is a shit fest and there isn't really any drama in which 6 NL teams make it. Nats won't do it

    i think people are tired of the yankees too.

    its nice to see some new teams in the playoffs.

    If the Pirates won the world series it would be a great story.

    wild card is a big deal
    cardinals won the whole thing on the wild card in 2011
    that was the best, i loved that year
    rays winning and red sox losing at the same time and braves blowing save w/kimbrel
    then the ws with cardinals whipping ass

    team that wins wild card is usually the hottest team..at least lately it seems like this.. not sure why

    marlins won it twice as a wild card 97 and 03
    Angeles in 02
    sox 04
    cards in 11

    Mets lost the world series to the yankees in 2000 but were the wild card
    Giants lost the series in 02 as a wild card
    Astros in 05 lost in the series as a wild card
    Tigers in 06 lost series as a wild card .
    Rockies in 07 lost in the series

    so between 2003-2007 a wild card team either won the series or played in it..

    wild card teams have been a handful the last 20 years
