Mike Leake (SP) Reds. Leake barely took the #5 starter spot for the Reds coming out of camp. Chapman almost bumped him to middle relief.

    What has Leake done?

    8-4, 2.69 ERA.

Not your prototypical first baseman, but getting it done from day one all season.

Josh Donaldson 16-61 .310, rock solid .379 OBA
Considering he plays in a graveyard that is Oakland, those numbers are muy impressive.

Koji Uehara 44 games pitched in relief.
    60 K's in 42 IP's (do the math)
    1.70 ERA 0.76 WH/IP

My boy Nasher always with the goods. Good calls.
But I'm not a buyer into Mike Leake OR James Loney.
Very good first halves for both, but doubt they continue.

    PAUL GOLDSCHMIDT is my boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Definitely the real deal. Guy just looks like he's gonna whack one everytime he steps to the plate.

Gomez will never last, unless it Roids. Having a MELKY type year for sure.

Then all winter it was "Trout is 30 lbs overweight, he'll have a sophomore year jinx and crash and burn, yadda, yadda, yadda"

Me thinks I am seeing a pattern here.

    2012
    Trout 30-83 .326 .399 OBA 129 runs scored, 49 stolen bases .................

2013 (first half-do the simple math and multiply by two)
    Trout 15-59 .322 OBA .399 OBA 65 runs scored 21 stolen bases

    Scary isn't it.

    Harper is what he is
An excellent defensive outfielder but he's a .268 hitter with an above OBA will hit 22 homers but drives in only 55 to 60

Agreed. The fact he is not an All Star seals the deal when talking about underrated when you look at all of his stats and advanced stats.

I think the funniest thread I saw all year was opening day this year. 5 seconds after Harper hit his 2nd HR of the game someone posted MVP ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Too lazy to go look for it. It was hilarious though.
Harper has a sweet swing to watch, but after seeing another half year between these 2 now, it seems like Trout is going to be the better player. I'm a Trout fan though I love watching the kid. I don't understand why he doesn't play CF everyday though.
