Fastball...90-92early in the outing, did have several 88 and 89 after 50 pitches in.Reached back for 92 as late as pitch 112. Average life, but spottedwell both sides of the plate.

Slider...Very tight pitch, virtually indistinguishable from the fastball until close to the plate.Usually 81-83, although a couple did come in at 85. Plus pitch. Goodarm action with this pitch. Thrown for strikes looking very often.

Changeup...Used very rarely. Average pitch at best. Came in at 81-83. I only counted six changeups.
Used early in the count more often than not. Did get one swinging strikeout on a change.

Fielding/Holding runners...Only had one fielding play to make and it was a routine throw to firstbase.
Paida lot of attention to runners. Feet are not slow, but his throws tobases are. At times he seemed to be more focused on runners than on thehitter.

Delivery...3/4 Delivery. Stay-tall-and-fall style.Rather upright approach. Landed on a stiff leg from time to time, butlanding point remained consistent. Not much deception in his delivery.

Kyle Gibson to Debut for Twins on Saturday

Minnesota Twins fans have been looking forward to something to get excited about this season, and on Saturday, they'll have that something. That's when top pitching prospect Kyle Gibson, the team's first-round pick in 2009, will make his major league debut, reports La Velle Neal of The Minnesota Star-Tribine.

Gibson is no spring chicken like other rookie pitchers Zack Wheeler, Shelby Miller or Gerrit Cole. Gibson is already 25-years-old, having had his development slowed down by Tommy John surgery, having lost almost all of the entire 2012 season to the rehabilitation process. He's also not a power-pitching strikeout pitcher like the other young guns mentioned, but he should be able to bring some semblance of stability to the Twins rotation.

Gibson's promotion to the majors was delayed by inconsistencies he had earlier in the season, alternating strong starts with poor ones, but he has recorded four straight quality starts recently and in six of his past seven outings. He appears now to have worked his way back from his surgery and is prepared to take his spot in the Twins rotation.

There is a question of how long the Twins will let him pitch in a lost season. They want him to get his feet wet in the major leagues, but they will also want to monitor his innings totals this season coming off of injury. I took a look this winter at how the Twins might handle this situation, and it appears that they will take a similar approach to what the Nationals took with Stephen Strasburg last season and shut him down sometime in September, albeit without the post-season consequences.

Gibson is not an ace or the savior of the Twins pitching struggles, but he is a major league pitcher and a viable candidate to anchor the middle of the Twins rotation for the next few years. He won't solve all of the Twins issues, but he does signal a step closer to them once again being a competitive team.

Couple the fact that the rook is pretty good, and Wade Davis sucks, and the Twins are at home and the game was a pick, why not take a 1* shot?

I do maybe 1 out of 5 times.
Pick your spots fella, pick your spots.

The best way to make cash is spot plays on dogs and pick 'em games where you think the team you like should be minus money.

This betting on baseball thing is not that complicated.

Not a bad major league debut.
What they call a quality start

    6 full, 8 hits, 2 runs, both earned, 0 walks, 5 K's.

Not to shabby against a good hitting KC team.
Can win it, can't get the loss.

    Well done fella !
