    Did Clayton Richard start?

I know that books have their own rules so for those that have wagers on this game I'm assuming he did 'start' by throwing two pitches but baseball rules seem more vague. Is it a start if he faces zero batters (0.0 innings pitched) and no stats are recorded while he was in? Will he even appear in the final box score?
