Yep 3 winnable series coming up. Royals, Dodgers twice, and Astros.

It's common knowledge in baseball circles that the Angels have the worst farm system in baseball... they have no top prospects or anyone that another team would want in a trade. Only way to get a guy like Price or Stanton would be to give up some of their major league talent. Also they are too far behind Texas right now. They were never this far back last year...

No... I think the A's are the better value. Angels are too far behind and if they want to get to 93/94 wins(which is what won the division last year) they need to play .750 ball the rest of the way... won't happen with that staff. I know people will make comparison to the 2005 Astros who started 15-30 and made the World Series, but that Astros team had 3 ace pitchers. A's are the value team right now. Starting in June the Rangers schedule gets really tough. @Boston, @Toronto, Cleveland, Toronto, Oakland, @New York, @St Louis, Cincinnati. That is a tough June and if the Rangers stumble a bit they can let Oakland back in it.

no doubt rangers will win the division but what about a wild card spot? with the 2nd spot they can still get in I would think

Exactly. With the new 2 wild card system they have a decent shot if they start play good ball the rest of the season..

i think they have a chance to finish better than Boston, Baltimore, Tampa Bay, Oakland, Cleveland, and Kansas City.

its pretty safe to say Texas, Detroit, and New York are making the playoffs.

Yes! Angels now only 10.5 back of Texas.

Bear....remember when you told me how this is a "rebuilding" year for the Rangers?

How do you feel the "rebuilding" is coming along thus far?

Angels do not have the pitching to make the playoffs nor the goods to acquire someone at the deadline should their moronic front office decide for some reason to be buyers at the deadline

i did say that didnt i?

I have a ton of respect for Michael Young, Mike Napoli, and Josh Hamilton... those are tough guys to replace!

but Mitch Moreland, Lance Berkman, and Murph Dog have filled in nicely! congrats Opie on your teams current record.

    All good, bear.

Of the 3 guys mentioned, Napoli is the only one I wish we would've kept. But I can't knock on the Rangers front office. Their moves have been 99% excellent in dealing with resigning high priced veterans.

is albert pujols the slowest guy in the majors?

he turns doubles into singles and runs into getting stranded at third.

another note, hamilton might heat up in the second half of the season...
