WAS -123 on Monday at LAD

Not exactly thinking outside the box here, but this pitching matchup is a joke. You have a true budding ace in Zimmermann going against a washed-up has-been in Beckett who really couldn't care less. Only problem is, Nats' D is atrocious and it's hard to back a squad that makes so many mental errors over the course of a game.

    Thoughts?

Also like the Brew Crew and D'Backs on Monday.

As a dodgers fan..i notice beckett doesn't get alot of run support when he pitches..i would go with the nats in this one

Zimmermann has been phenomenal this year, but look at his last three starts: Cincinnati, @Atlanta and Detroit for a 0.38 ERA, 19 K's, 3 wins in 24 innings. You really want to bet against this guy right now? I'd like to think that Beckett is due for a win but I can't see it coming today.

With the total only at 6.5, nats team total should be 3.5 and over might be worth a play.

"Josh Beckett is 7-2 with a 2.46 ERA in 16 starts against the Nationals/Expos franchise but only one of those outings has come since 2005". Yahoo sports.

AKA this stat is completely irrelevant to tomorrow's outcome.

I'm steering clear of this one. Nats are +115 in the series -- why? Kershaw starts Game 2, which is obviously going to favor the Dodgers, but the Nats are -125 tonight and I'm sure they'll be favored in Game 3 (Detwiller vs. Magill). Series price seems to be a trap, and thus, so does this game.

Actually this stat says all we need to know.... We don't know! This stat tells us: every stat comparing beckett and the nats hold no water. Except individual pitcher/batter stats of course.

Right now, it just doesn't matter who's pitching. It's the dodgers; and until the Dodgers prove that they can beat average to good teams with any regularity, it's fade or no play.

might have to lay off this one. zimmerman is a beast but the nats offense is cold.
