Does Toronto close the roof when Dickey pitches?

Wondering if any Jays fans (or anyone else) knows the answer to this. Knuckleballs hate the wind, so I would assume Toronto closes the dome any time Dickey takes the mound to try to gain an edge.

Any Jays season tickets holders out there?

I live in Toronto, the roof stays closed until the weather warms up, they wont close it in the summer just for one pitcher.

It has nothing to do with what Dickey wants.

it has to do with the outside temperature and weather.

if they deem it good weather the roof will be open.

The only say Dickey has is what Jersey they will wear

Dickey will get going when the weather gets warm so they should close it

They won't close for dickey no. All due to weather only. Not players.

I think I read somewhere that Dickey's knuckleball gets lit up indoors in recent years!

Live in Toronto too. The dome is closed when not in use, so they wouldn't have to "CLOSE" the dome just for him, they just leave it as is if he requests that. The only reason they would really deny that request to keep it closed is if it was a gorgeous saturday or sunday day game and it would be for the fan-experience only. Just my opinion. Costs a buttload of money to open.

Where did you read that? In recent years (heading into this year) he just had the one start indoors didn't he? (that game at The Trop where he threw a 1 hitter)

It's an interesting question. I believe Dickey has said himself that his stuff is better indoors. And there's this:

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but if I were in charge, I'd give the guy whatever he wants. It's unseasonably warm, and very windy in Toronto today, which might hurt him if the roof is open. Seems silly not to keep it closed on a day like today.

knuckler does better in humid weather and when thrown into the wind (i.e., wind from behind home plate). the climate control of a dome makes it less effective.
