I'm going to roll the dice with the Scrubs on Friday afternoon

Got it at +140. I watched Villanueva pitch in Atlanta in his first start, and he was very solid and poised. He always looked OK to me when he was in Toronto as well. Not the greatest pitcher in the world, but decent.

Cain got shelled by the Cards in his last start. I'm not reading too much into that; I figure he'll bounce back tomorrow and make this bet tough on me. He gave up 5 ER in 5 IP last year at Wrigley, though, and he's not exactly riding a ton of momentum into this one.

Of course it's the Cubs, so anything can and probably will happen. They were up 5-0 today and somehow blew it (Starlin's error was a disaster). Giants are a WS contender again this year and they're off to a great start, but I like this number and I'll take my chances for 2U that the Cubs can pull out a close win.

Good luck dude. I like your play here as Villaneuva pitched well against one of the best offenses in baseball last time

I think this is a good spot for the Giants though. This is exactly the kind of game they really want to win, especially on the road like this, and they seem very motivated right now, especially Cain. Cain may not have much momentum at the moment, individually, but the team does and the bats have been bailing the pitchers out lately. Not to mention like you said, the Cubs will be the Cubs. So at some point, they'll probably help the Giants win.

There's always more than one way to look at it. BOL nonetheless. I think I'm going to be on the other side tomorrow though.

agreed, i wouldnt fade a top 10 pitcher against a horrible club. Thats just not smart, theres better value on the board today.

FWIW, weather is still pretty iffy in chicago. It's not raining like yesterday, but if the wind stays, who knows what'll happen. idk what direction it's blowing

Wow -- crazy line movement in the Cubs' favor now. Is anyone out for SF today?

Cubs prob win. Cubs should win. But it's always hell backing the cubs. They know how to lose so well and are one of the most poorly coached teams in baseball.

Agree. Sveum isn't much of a manager, and it never helps when your "stars" are bums like Soriano or ADD kids like Starlin.

Yep. I've seen then piss away 3 games already this year. "Star"Lin cost them 4 runs yesterday. Nice WAR

Heritage has been reeling me in on the Cubs. I bet them yesterday as well, only to watch a comedy of errors blow the game. Terrible mental mistakes in the field, walking the opposing pitcher with the bases loaded...

Castro let one go between his legs, then the dumbass 2B held the ball rather than throw a runner out at first. Would've been a big out.

Villaneuva has faced the minimum thru 4.

How do the clubs blow this one? 5 innings to find out

Solid 5 innings from Villanueva. Looks strong, and able to go at least 7 today.

So the game will comedown to the Chicago bullpen. Hope they forget Marmol is in there

Villaneuva with another fine start. Now the bullpen needs to get the last 5 outs and get him the win he deserves
