    World Baseball Classic 2013

The last WBC in 2009 I made about 5 units and the first WBC in 2006 I lost a little bit just about brokeeven. Time is the first time I'm going to post on SBR. I'm going to start the tourney off tonight by playing Chinese Taipei -1.5 (-131) Pinny. Chien-Ming Wang against Chris Oxspring. Taipei at home with an pretty good ex-MLB pitcher on the mound. I've more later for the early morning games. GL

Game #2: Japan vs Brazil (2am PST/5am EST)

This game I'm taking Japan -8.5 [+118] Pinny.

I'm unable to find Japan -8 on any of the books I use and I can only find Japan -7.5 at Bet365 but the juice is at (-140)...yikes no way.

Anyway, Japan features no current MLB player on their roster this time around so no Ichiro, no Fukudome no Dice-K among others but no problem. The reigning 2-time champion playing at home against a team that has never played in the tourney. Japanese in general are very loyal, focused and disciplined and do not take losing lightly especially in front of their home crowd. They've only lost to one team ever in Japan and that's to their old foe the South Koreans. Every other win they have at the Tokyo Dome or Japan Dome are by blow-out except one...the Chinese. I think the mercy rule will apply in this game in which the game will be called when the difference is 10 or more runs after 7 innings or by 15 or more runs in 5 innings.

Good luck man, I actually think Brazil is a team that can keep it close. I would take that line against China though, their program has been in decline for a few years since the Olympics.

I agree, japan strength this year is pitching, i see a 6-1 type of game. Might play the under

-8.5 in a baseball game, no way. I know japan is a very good team. But giving up 8.5 in a baseball game is not smart. My book doesnt have a run line on this. If I had a chose , i would jump on +8.5 Brazil.

Fortunate I got the line for -8.5 at +118. Now it's at -116

Ya there's always a chance Brazil can keep it close but I'm gonna stick with my gut on this one and think Japan will run away with it. GL to whatever anyone bets

The third game in Day 1 between Korea & the Netherlands is hard to cap to be honest...still working on it

good luck. I hope you win. I am just saying laying -8.5 in baseball is huge. Yes, Japan is a way better team, but they need to win by 9 runs. That is way too much to give up in a baseball game

I don't know who to bet anymore. Line movement tells me Japan. In the other game money flowing on korea.
    Who's pitching for brazil?

I'm strongly leaning the under in the third game. The Dutch played every single game to the under back in 2009 and their collective roster stats haven't changed much this year. However the Korean will be missing Shin Soo Choo and all-star 3B Bum Ho Lee which he was on fire in 2009. Slugger Dae Ho Lee is on the roster this year though. The Dutch is missing a good pitcher in Jair Jurrgens fron the Braves though.

Just when I went to check the line on Pinny it changed from 8.5 to 7.5 (-115)
    Bet365 still 8.5 (-140)...ouch

Ya, he does have some good stuff. Ran into some trouble in the 2nd.

This Japan Dome is huge and they upped the height of the outfield walls to 19ft makes it even harder for the Japanese to hit HR. They don't have the power they did last year so they should just play small ball and stop trying to swing it out there every time. My play is dead...you guys were right.

    Game 3: Korea vs Netherlands u7.5 (-115) [3:30am PST/6:30am EST)

Off to bed...see you guys tomorrow.

yeah the games are going to more competitive now then the qualifying games. I really dont see any team beating another by 9 runs.

The only team that truly does not belong in the whole field is China. The bad teams like South Africa got relegated out and China will be relegated after this tourney. China might be the only team that gets mercied TBH.

    Recap:
    AUS vs TAW -1.5 (-131) WON 1*
    JAP -8.5 (+118) vs BRA LOSS 1*
    KOR/NED u7.5 (-115) WON 1*

    TOTAL: +1*

The Japan play was a bad call, they are not the powerhouse like 2009 but still got it done in the end. I agree China will probably be the first team to be mercied.

Game 4: CUBA vs BRAZIL (7:30pm PST/10:30pm EST)

This game is going to be tough for the Brazilians. They got 2 leads against Japan into the 6th inning and end up losing the game. They should be somewhat dejected but they saved their ace Andre Rienzo for this game but other than that their bullpen are fairly ordinary as they showcased their lack of throwing arm into the later innings against Japan.

Cuba is a loaded team with power hitters and power everywhere. The Cuban leaque is at the end of their season so their players are all warmed-up for this tourney.

    CUBA -5.5 (-118) Pinny

Even though that is alot of points to give up. I think that is a good pick. Cuba is a good team. Brazil is a team that isnt as good as they looked vs Japan. Cuba is a baseball country and this is the stage where everyone can see them play. Brazil is a soccer country and baseball isnt that big like its in Cuba. Cuba could win by 7 or 8 points. Good pick bro, I probably wont play this game though, since sportsbook dot com doesnt have a runline on this game and its -1200 straight up.

I have accounts with Pinnacle, Bodog, Bet365 & Bookmaker.
I use Pinny 90% of the time. They even have live WBC betting!! It's a great book but not for US players though.

    The RL at Pinnacle is -5.5 (-144) / +5.5 (+130)
    Total at over 9 (-130) / under 9 (+118)
ML for Japan (-2000) and for China (+1380)

I think I'm gonna have to suck up the juice and go -5.5
There hasn't been any blowouts yet and I lost Japan -8.5 and lost Cuba -5.5 I really think Japan will pound them.
