Less than 2 week until Spring Training ....Did your team improve over the winter?

Tough call on the Mets it will depend on how healthy d'Arnaud is.
We still have awesome starting pitching even without Dickey.
I think every start can pitch above 500 ball the weak link here
    could be NoHans
All stud pitching thru the monors no bats I though we would deal some.

In the minors we have pitching and about 15 SS lol

Mets fan here as well. Lets not fool ourselves our starting pitching is crap compared to the rest of the division. Luckily Miami sucks even more and we won't finish in the basement. Hoping big power numbers from Duda and Ike Davis to become the star we know he can become.

building for the future and remaining somewhat respectable....though no chance of winning unless doc returns to form and everyone stays healthy

The Phillies payroll as it stands, is projected to be about $165,000,000 for 2013. The luxury tax threshold is $189,000,000 in 2014. That means that the team will have about $74,000,000 in payroll flexibility going into the 2014 off-season.

be a Pirates fan. You guys traded away your all-star closer.
Does the Pirates owner just hate winning?

I think the owners have been ambivalent to winning, they like making $

I was glad they traded Hanrahan though, closers in general are way over-rated and over-priced.

Pirates are good at getting rid of over priced players before they collapse, they just suck at getting prospects back that ever amount to anything.

have to disagree with you on that bud. if mets and red sox could have close games, they would not have had those historical collapse in september. where would yankees be without mo for all these years.

Read the title copy and paste boy ....all I asked was if your team is improved....I didnt say Mets win the WS I know that wont happen. I think we can be 500 though I see some good things but still a lot of bad things.
The Wilpons are a cancer I dont think the Mets will see glory years until those low life crooks are gone.

Didnt the Red Sox trade for a closer the previous off season with Reddick and prospects? How did that work out. Fact is the pirates are replacing hanrahans role with a guy that had a better season last year anyways. But with these guys who knows when they tank. Bucs got hanrahan as a throw in in a trade with the Nats a few years back.

Phillies fan here. No idea if we have improved or not. The acquisitions made this off-season are meh at best. Depends on if Halladay, Utley and Howard are all healthy, then maybe the Phillies are improved. Actually if they are all healthy and playing to career norms (a big if I know), then they will be really tough.

I love the idea of Darin Ruf starting in left. Also still hopeful on Dom Brown. The outfield could either be stacked for the future or a complete bust. Will be interesting to see which way it goes. D Young signing probably wasn't a good move though.

rotation looks solid, especially if liriano can do anything. overpaid for russ martin but at least he knows how to call a game. would like to replace barmes with anybody young and fast. dont know about the bullpen, def my biggest concern.
