I think the jays are giving up too much for a 38 year old pitcher.

Toronto would get Dickey,Thole, and a non elite prospect.

Mets would receive D'Arnaud, Buck, and Syndergaard.

23-year-old D’Arnaud is viewed as the Jays’ No. 1 prospect, while the 20-year-old Syndergaard is ranked No. 3.

That said prospects are just that, prospects, and jays have a short window of 2-3 years to win a championship with this roster.

The deal is in place, just awaiting Dickey signing an extension.

Great return for the mets and I will be a little disappointed with this trade unless jays win a title.

yea not crazy about giving up D’Arnaud for Dickey, curious to see how much Shaun Marcum gets on the open market. He seemed like a good fit without having to give up D’Arnaud.

I think too much is being made of Dickey's age. The biggest issue with age is a loss of velocity, and Knuckleballers age very differently than pitcher in general, in addition Dickey has only thrown 1000 ML innings

    Good point,

If jays lock him up for 3 years, there is no reason he can't put together 3 solid seasons.

As a Mets fan I'm disappointed to see Dickey go. His age is not an issue at all. Guy will be solid for multiple years to come due to being a knuckleball pitcher. At least were getting some young talent and perhaps will be in contention in 2-3 years

Can't believe the Mets couldn't get the Jays to pay the rest of Jason Bay's salary too in this deal.

Now that woulda been really sweet.

hopefully dArnaud will be a real stud and be an impact play immediately. and hopefully John Buck can get his power back and revisit his 25-30 HR seasons

I'll be happy if D'Arnaud turns into a Gary Carter type and Ike get his average up to .260 next year wuth his 30 HR's and the Mets can somehow swing a trade for Justin Upton.

With the Blue Jays recent trade with Miami this is a smart trade IMO. At his lowest, Dickey is a .500 pitcher but if he can repeat last season then the Blue Jays are strong playoff contenders. Some people have said AA is fukking up trading the prospects but they are only that, prospects. I remember Jesse Litch(sp) and everything he was supposed to bring to the team, how did that pan out........

I'm pumped as a Bluejays fan. Mets got two very good prospects in return though. Syndergaard is gonna be something special.
