    Tue July 28 Undertaker candidates (UNDER)

    When two pitchers face each other who both have a WHIP < 1 the UNDER is 53-3 this year.

    Atlanta Jurjens .95 WHIP
    Florida Nolasco .93 WHIP

    both have a WHIP < 1 last 5 games

    The UNDER is 253 and 36 when pitchers with a combined WHIP of 2.2 face each other:
    Toronto Rasputin (I know, but you try spelling his name) 1.3 WHIP
    Seattle Washburn .76 WHIP

    Philly Hamels 1.1 WHIP
    Arizona Haren .9 WHIP

    Houston Oswalt .67 WHIP
    Cubs Dempster 1.6 WHIP

    A theory I have been researching. Handicapping teams using WHIP as a filter.

    I had no idea that results are so lopsided based on WHIP. Here is one that will blow your mind. When one pitcher's WHIP is .5 or more less than the opponent pitcher the lower WHIP pitcher's team is 298-73. Say what?

    And when the difference is .9 the win/loss record goes to 185-30. Imagine going 6-1 every day.
