It just occured to me that since I have the Royals for the series with the Pales, that I should take the Royals today as well. There's good reverse movement on it and the joes are all over the Pales today.

    Royals +1.5 -135 and over (9) +100 looks like a nice combo.

Hard to lose both of these.. Royals should score 4 with there past success against buerhle.

Cardinals are gonna pound Zito. Giants might put up a couple runs though too.

Might be alot of runs scored tonight around the league.

I am snake bitten this year. I have had two games today have the exact same thing happen in the 9th inning. I know that I am capping the games right, because i am doing what I have always done, but my teams have relief issues regardless of whether they had good form coming into the day or not.. Damn!

You're right CK.If this kind of reliever heartburn gonna continue the whole season many cappers money will also get burn. You're doing a very wonderful job CK,it's just only the relievers just screwing you up.

Yeah, ragiche but this is getting downright ridiculous. Apparently as anyone can see by my capping formula I always account for relif pitching WHIPS too. That is what is so baffling about te performance of these teams. I am no longer comfortable with a 2 run lead in the 9th anymore!

I can understand if my team has been outplayed the whoe game. That kind of loss is easy to stomach. It's the ones like I had today that make you pissed off. I had the D-backs AND the Mets give up 9th innng leads with bullpen issues. It just messes up good handicapping, because results are all that matter in this thing of ours. This is the worst I have ever seen relief pitching. I am almost about to give up baseball and go with all of my other sports that I kill in. Up until this year, THIS has been my favorite sport to wager on.....

Football is on the way, though. So I only have one more month of crappy relief pitching to deal with..

Man, Padres have some really poor offense. I was liking Correia coming into this game, but man, Padres have only 3 guys with a hitting percentage over .240 in the lineup. As a Blue Jays fan I'm always shouting at Wells, but with his .248 he doesn't compare to the epic failure that is the Padres' offense. Too bad on that bet as well. Going away to the Dodgers next, they look heavy fading material.

I hope for you the bullpens will not screw you over tomorrow.

Even though I won the heavy wager with the Mets, I still have a big problem with these damned relief pitchers. Man what is so hard about doing your job? Throw strikes and low if you have to pitch to contact, and let your fielders do the work. It's that simple. But what do they do? They come in and walk the first hiter they face and it's all downhill from there. And then to make matters worse, managers bring a guy in to get the last guy from the previous frame out. Okay he's done his job right? No. He goes t othe dugout, gets all of the pats on the back and then goes back out there to start the next inning and what does he do? You guessed it. He walks the lead off runner and the shit is on. The Missus is on the way back to the house with a fresh bottle of Old No7 Jack. Not the smooth Single Barrel that I normally drink. I specifically wanted the burn.

    What does that tell you?

I knew that the Padres couldn't hit for shit, because they haven't hit for shit all year, and this is my 2nd wager with them in this span because one time the situation called for it (today) and the other time it was a JM B bet, because I wasn't feeling the A. The bullpen situaion has actually chased me off of a couple of JM plays this year. I do them the old school way without those stupid ass filters. I use my own filter. It's called I want movement and bats, lol! The Padres are pathetic an they are who I thought they were. Correia isn't getting any run support anyway, so there you go. I thought that being at home would spark them to play with a sense of urgency. They are garbage

There is plenty of action by joes on the Pales and the Angels tonight. The Pales are the big play in every casino I hear. There is some smart money riding on the Royals now. I followed suit and made my play as a sweetener.

    Early games

    D-Backs
    D-Backs/Red Leggins over 8.5

And why not? They got shut out yesterday, have an inferior pitcher on the bump who happens to be in better form than the favorite Davis WHIP is 1.47 to Harang's 1.61. I also have a wager on the over for this game as both pitchers are combined to havea WHIP over 1.50, and the slugging % is over .350 combined as well. This spells runs. The consensus for the total is 81% of bettors are on the under. I have to go the other way on that!

    San Diego+100 HEAVY

Correia has been filthy nasty with a sterling WHIP of 0.51 that reads like a misprint. Chicken dinner lovers have jumped on the side of Houston 70% to 30%, but my ears on the ground out in Vegas say that some smart money was thrown on the Padres a little while ago, to counter what the joes are doing.

    Middle games

    Mets+128 HEAVY
    Mets-1.5 +180 RRL

If you can believe it or not, Joe McLovin has jumped ship on the Mets after getting burnt the past few weeks. Kind of hard to get the joes off of a New York team, but the Mets have not won a game by 2 runs in 7 games. The ears on the ground in Vegas tell me that this is not a popular bet, matter of fact, no one is taking the Mets to win by 2 on the alternate runline, however, 98% of bettors are taking the Pirates runline. This is a good spot to get you some Metropolitans.

    Cubs-1.5 +140

Well now here is an interesting pick. The Brewers are out of gas and now must face a Cubs team that as their own concerns. When you see Lou Piniella get tossed from a game, then you already know that the losses are starting to get to him. Soriano and Soto sat out for the Cubbos in their last game, and they still won. Now with them back and refreshed, this game has the look of a blowout. Maholm has been getting roughed up a bit lately. It will continue today as the Pirates once again prove that they are what we thought they were.

I took the Royals for their series with the White Sox at -105. So with that in mind, I have to pick up two wins in this series. No better way to get things started than to go against the grain. Gimmie the Burger Kings!

    Royals+115
Realllllly nice call on the Mets winning.
