I have Cards series. Should I hedge out or let it ride?

heres the deal. I took Cards after Game 1 at -190. SF is -130 tonight, which makes this decision even harder.

also the series bet i have on the Cards is all the money i have left in 5Dimes, its all riding on Cards series.

i really don't wanna dip into different out to hedge off. i hate that. if i still had funds at 5dimes i'd do it. i know it sounds retarded. argh.

i agree that OP shouldnt hedge tonights game, especially at -135...but there are definitely smart times to hedge imo. sometimes its good to guarantee a profit.

Hedging is a good idea if you have Cardinals in the futures at the start of the season. They were 15-1 to win the NL and 30-1 to win the World Series at the start of the year. For the series as a favorite isn't a good idea though.

I have a Giants/Tigers series parlay. I know how you feel. I am hedging mine. Don't take that chance.

I also know how you feel man...I got Giants series when it was +225. I'm also thinking of hedging for guaranteed profit...but I only threw $100 on it.

So it it really worth hedging? I guess it depends how much you put on your Cards series.

you can hedge to guarantee profit, i would do it if 100$ is a big bet for you, if not you let it ride
if you hedge you can lock up 80$ profit, if you don't you either win 225 or lose 100

he can hedge to reduce losses

yeah, exactly. so it's either +$225 if Giants win , -$100 if Giants lose, or hedge for guaranteed $80 no matter who wins.

    lol tough one.

as for the OP, if I was in your situation I would probably hedge out because I personally think Giants roll tonight...but of course anything can happen, If I was THAT confident I wouldn't be thinking of hedging my own bet.

it all depends on how much your original bet is

In September I bet $200 to win $2,800 on the Cardinals to win the NL. At this point I believe the Giants are going to win the NL. Why wouldn't put $1,000 - $1,500 on the Giants at this point?

    "Never hedge". Please explain yourself.

I think you could make a profit out of it if you got them at good odds. I have a friend that has the Cardinals at 15-1 at the start of the year and he put $20 on it. So if I was him I would put $50 on the Giants to cover himself. Then he wins either way.

I would agree that you usually can do better with individual games but this is not why.
