Good move. Baker is one of the best managers in MLB history. His record is very impressive. He has won everywhere he has been a manager. Before he got to the Reds, they had not been competitive in 10+ years. He is considered a player manager and his players respect him. I know most of you are closet racists and like to express your views on here, so it's no surprise that the racists on here are critical of black managers and head coaches all the time. But as a baseball move, this makes good sense. Only real knock on DB is that his teams have faltered in the post season in excruciating ways.

Baker is handed some of the most talented and expensive teams in baseball. Yeah some players like him, but he always wears out his welcome and goes to another team. Also ask some of the great pitchers he has overworked and ruined if they like him, like Wood, Prior, Nen, Estes. He got the name Widowmaker for being such an idiot managing pitch counts and pitchers arms.

He only went to the world series his first year with a great SF squad handed to him. He rejects commonly accepted sabermetric principles making him a laughing stock among insiders and other managers. Ask LaRussa what he thinks of Dusty.

He is by far the most successful black manager ever, #19 in wins overall, but he is not even in the top 25 in win %. He will probably keep getting prime jobs despite his inability, affirmative action. Look at how he managled the poors Reds this year. All that talent, up 2-0 only to go home and historically get swept 3 straight by Dusty's old team to get booted out of the playoffs in their first series.

Wonder if they are regretting extending this * contract after the Reds epic playoff meltdown. He has overworked and ruined many of pitcher's arms, Prior, Woods, Estes, Nen....hope this wide nose doesn't manage to ruin Cueto and Chapman. Affirmative action gone badly wrong....again.

I am sure SF isn't regretting firing Dusty. They have won a WS and are heading to their second one since they axed him. The Reds are still scratching their heads wondering what went wrong with Dusty managing them up 2-0 games in the playoffs this year.
