That's what they get for shutting down Strasburg. This fcukin franchise may not sniff the playoffs again for another 10 years for all we know....and they decide not to "risk" pitching one their aces in the post season. Unreal.

Don't understand this team at all. SMH.

Dunno why you hate the fans, they packed the stadium this year... never seen Nats stadium packed before this year... EVER.

This was their one shot. This was suppose to be their year. This was suppose to be Strasburg's coming out party (no homo) and they fukked it all up. So many fluke loses at home. Now this. What a disgusting way to end a season.

SMH.... they'll slink back into mediocrity next year, they can only dream of another post season.

14th in attendance for the best record in baseball? Not exactly packed and keep in mind their proximity to teams like the Phillies and Mets. When the Phils play down there, half the stadium is Phillies fans.

In last 50 years of baseball, i can think of only two times that managing was--without a doubt--a PROMINENT factor in the outcome of a playoff series...both involve the Cards...

1968 World Series tigers...Manager Mayo Smith moved his CentreFielder, Mickey Stanley to Shortstop to replace all-glove/no-bat Ray Oyler against the heavily-favored Cards..series went 7 games (Tigers winning on the famous Curt Flood misjudged fly-ball), but without the extra pop in the lineup the Tigers wouldn't have even made it to that game...Smith's off-the-wall substitution was definitely A key factor in the Tigers' victory.

at the other end of the spectrum here you have General Manager Rizzo's (i can't picture this being Johnson's doing) incomprehensibe "play'em when u don't need 'em/save'em when u do" misuse of their greatest pitching resource. The "management" somehow got September/October mixed up with April/May. This monumental "calendar & human-resource-management" cockup was THE key factor in the Nats' roll-over.

The '68 Tigers' decision was an unorthodox way to strengthen the team for battle.
The 2012 Nationals mismanagement of their best pitching resource was unilateral disarmament.
