Pete Rose Is Jealous Of Derek Jeter

    What a fukkin crybaby.

Does he really need to say that Jeter won't get the hits record?

Does he really have a need to explain why?

    What a jealous fukk.

I hope Jeter DOES get it just to shove it in his face.

    You think he's right?

What if Jeter said it doesn't matter what Rose thinks since I'm a better player anyway?

How do you know it's truth?

    Did Jeter retire?

    Of course he is right

    Jeter has no shot

Would need 200+ for next 4-5 years

    Never happen

Jeter will come back next year or year after from offseason and he will be fukkin cooked. Shell of himself.

Plus he is never leaving the Yankees. He would retire before he would go somewhere else at this point. Before he got this last contract chances were slim to none he would leave. Now its 0% chance he would play somewhere else. There is no other position to hide him at.

Cant go to 3rd. Cant go to 2nd.

The Yankees will decide when Jeter's career is over. And he will leave gracefully

    Bronxer

I love your posts about the Yankees.

    Great insight on them.

That being said, I respectfully disagree.

I disagree on the point about Jeter always staying with the Yankees.

I can see him, at one point, eventually leaving.

    He needs 952 hits.

    For Jeter that is doable.

It wouldn't be for any other player but him.

I'm not saying he will get it, but I do not underestimate Derek Jeter.

    Never happen

Like i said before this last contract. Yes it was possible. Not now. Trust me. 0% chance

High up sources in the Yankees organization have let it be known in recent weeks it will never happen.

Feeling is mutual between Jeter and ownership. Its just not going to happen. For the sake of breaking the record or not. It doesnt matter

How old is Pete Rose? Around 70? He would still kick Jeter's ass.

Jeter is already on record as stating that he would play for another team.

He said this when he was asked if he could ever envision himself playing for someone other than the Yankees.

He said something to the effect that he wants to be a Yankee forever but that if the time came that if he felt he could still play everyday and the Yankees felt differently, he would basically have no choice but to play for someone else.

Personally, I think it would be fukkin hilarious if he went to the National League to tear up National League pitching to break the record.

I would laugh my ass off.

i dont care what he said

He isnt limping to the finish line in a fukkin Kansas City Royals uniform

And I am pretty sure that was said prior to him signing this last contract. Things have changed since then. At this point he is playing for the Yankees or he is retired

And just for the record I am not a big Derek Jeter fan. I could fukkin care less if he goes somewhere else. My Yankee fandom has waned as I have gotten older. Real life problems take over. Not worried about some fukkin sports team. That being said there are some of us out there who are yankee fans but arent huge Jeter fans

    Hold on a sec.

Jeter wouldn't limp to the finish line just to break the record.

He has more pride than that.

Second, he keeps himself in phenomenal shape.

Put it this way.....his conditioning is better than Rose's was at the same age.

He is ahead of Rose at the same point in their careers in nearly every important statistical category.

If Rose kept in good enough shape to break Cobb's record, there is no reason Jeter can't do it.

No he wouldnt limp to the finish line to break the record.

And there is no chance he would limp there in another uniform.

I don't know. You and Bronxer have more faith in the organization than I do.

Brian Cashman and the Steinbrenner boys are a bunch of jerkoffs.

They told Jeter during the last contract negotiation to test the market.

    Fukkin assholes.

If Jeter knows he can still play every day but the Yankees disagree, then I think Jeter has no choice but to walk.

Jeter would never say that by the way

Jeter aint going anywhere like nash and bronxer said.

But say he did stick around. Wheres he gonna play?

SS nope. Just look at the play the other night where Hardy didnt score. 3 or 4 yrs ago he get that ball

    2b nope Canos there

    3rd base? Dont see it

    1b. Tex is there

    DH. AROD

OF maybe 5 yrs ago but not now. Although Cashman seems to think its gonna happen

Yankees arent gonna want 2 guys taking up roster room chasding records
    And Arods here til 2017
Jeters contract is up in 2014 (i think)
Unless he gets 200 hits for the next 2 yrs and doesnt look like he will slow down it prob wont happen

They told him that cuz he knew he wasnt gonna get a 6 yr deal like he wanted

At that time they werent gonna let him leave

They told him to test the market to prove to him noone was gonna give him the contract

If someone did they would have matched it or gave him more money anyway

He isnt going to fukkin come close to breaking it so it doesnt matter.

This team. That team. Will he leave the Yanks?

Like I said he will come back next year or the year after and he will be fukkin cooked. A shell of himself. I dont care how good he played this year. He is on the fukkin clock. You are delusional if you think a 40-41 year old Jeter will be racking up 200 hit seasons. He wont even be around at 41.

Yup. Sounds about right. 2 more years. Could see them maybe throwing him a 1 yr deal for 2015 if he is still semi-productive. Definitely will not be playing beyond that.

I agree with everything you said in this thread and you know what I heard on the radio this morning? They were talking about boxers but it 100% applies here to Jeter. Guys get old FAST. It's going to happen all at once. He's ok, he's ok, he's ok and then POOF he's WORTHLESS. Can't field, can't hit for power, can't slap balls into opposite field and he's done.

The thing is I do see a 20% chance he goes to some other team as a gimmeck to chase the record. Maybe the Washington Nationals. Jeter isn't the Mr. Squeeky clean good guy I'd never leave the Yanks they make him out to be.
