    return is

    Jeff Locke
    Charlie Morton
    Gorkys Hernandez

Andrew McCutchen makes his debut tomorrow for the Pittsburgh Pirates....

too bad.... I was hoping to see a super speedy, McClouth, McCutchen, and Morgan outfield this fall

Right now, I have the not enough return feeling. This better work out, NH didn't need to do this.

Locke has the most upside, and Morton can step into the rotation now, presumably.

I don't think this is enough return, especially considering McClouth is still hasn't reached a possible ceiling yet.... his contract isn't large... I would have liked to have seen at least one more prospect, a hitter, and with power.. this Hernandez doesn't have enough power.... and the pirates farm is devoid of real power hitters with MLB potential outside of alvarez

I agree, even a high risk/high reward power guy in the low minors would have been sufficient.

I don't hate the deal, but I guess it is the fear of the unknown that says the Pirates should have gotten more.

For an above avg player, and very above avg player for a centerfielder, with an all-star appearance and gold glove.....that comes with a long term fairly cheap contract. I just can't agree with neal huntington that the Braves "made an offer we couldn't refuse".......

I think the ownership wants to sell all the stars now and start a full bore youth rebuilding..... which is odd because they signed nate this offseason to make him the "centerpiece" and core of the new movement....

    hopefully
    adam laroche
    jack wilson
    freddy sanchez
    grabow

are soon to follow with some close to ready MLB prospects with some power
McLouth signed a three-year $15.75 million contract in February, a move that avoided salary arbitration. The contract called for him to receive $3 million this season, $4.5 million in 2010 and $6.5 million in 2011. There also was a club option for $10.65 million in 2012, with a $1.25 million buyout.

another great dump by the Pirates!

they seem to know when guys have hit their peak and unload them to others

    Giles
    Nady
    Bay
    Sanchez
    Wilson
    McCouth

at the time of each of these trades there was OUTRAGE from most fans....all these guys went elsewhere and sucked big time
