well if the shortstop can get to the ball easy and it was hit so high, you could say it was almost an infield fly
after thinking about it, braves shouldn't of given up 6 runs and played such bad defense. Get base hits braves if you want to
win instead of cardinals dropping a easy pop out.
The shortstop for the cards could of heard the call by the ump and let it go

I talked to an umpire after the call. Here is what he said.
"Infield fly rule is a judgement call by the umpire. It must be a ball that can be reasonably caught by an infielder. The call must be made before the ball reaches its apex. It can be hit into the outfield." "It doesn't matter which player makes the catch."
So as long as he made the xcall before it reached its apex, the call cannot be reversed because it is a judgement call.

Actually there was nothing wrong with the call itself, the problem was with how LATE the ump called it. If he called it as soon as he saw the shortstop going back for it, there would have been no issue.
