    I wrote this in other thread:

    Scenario 1:
    Orioles win
    Yankees lose

    Yankees and Orioles will play one game to determine who wins the division. The loser of this game is a wildcard team, and will play other wildcard team which is the loser of the Rangers/Athletics game.

    Scenario 2:
    Yankees win or Orioles lose

    Orioles (as a wildcard team) will play other wildcard team which the loser of the Rangers/Athletics game.

    Then, you have to wait for the result of the wildcard game to determine later matchups.

    are you sure about that if the yankees lose and orioles win they play a playoff for division? wouldnt winner of reg season series clinch division
