    Friday MLB Picks

    Detroit / Anaheim Over 8.5 -105

The wind is blowing out to left tonight and that would indicate a higher scoring game in this park. The over is 4-1 this year when the wind is blowing in that direction. Santana returns to start for the Angels and he has given up 17 runs in his last four starts in Detroit. The Angels bats are warming up with the full lineup and they will give him some run support. Verlander has given up 13 runs in his last two starts against the Angels. Over is 11-4-2 in Santana’s last 17 starts as a road underdog and over is 11-3 in Verlanders last 14 home starts with the total set at 7.0-8.5. Look for plenty of runs to come across the plate tonight and for this game to sail over.

    Blue Jays +133

This home underdog is at a very nice price considering that they 19-9 at home. This line is over inflated because of the red hot start of Zack Grienke. The problem is he will not get run support from the slumping Royals. They are hitting .202 in the last ten and have lost seven games in a row because they cannot keep a lead. Royals are 1-10 in their last 11 road games and Blue Jays are 14-6 in their last 20 home games. I will take the home underdog in this contest.

    San Diego +100

The Padres ran into a hot hitting Phillies team and should regain their winning ways against Arizona tonight. Gaudin has pitched very well at home and is looking for revenge in this pitching matchup after losing to Arizona on the 25th. Davis gets the nod for Arizona and Arizona has won just 3 of his last ten starts. Padres are 7-1 in their last 8 games as a home underdog and Padres are 10-3 in their last 13 home games. The home team gets back in the win column tonight.

    Oakland -112

The A’s went to Chicago and got a few impressive wins to wrap up the road trip and now they return home to try and build off that energy. The O’s are 16-35 in their last 51 road games and dropped two out of three in Seattle to start the trip. Braden starts for the A’s and the O’s are hitting just .199 on the road against lefties this year. Guthrie goes for Baltimore and they have lost 7 of his last nine starts and his ERA on the road is 6.57. The A’s continue to win and build on the positive trip to Chicago. Orioles are 8-21 in the last 29 meetings in Oakland and loss number 30 happens tonight!
