It appears to be a situational play here...even with Steve Johnson on the hill?
"At Norfolk this year, Johnson is 4-8 with a 2.86 ERA in 19 games (14 starts). The 24-year-old allowed 66 hits and 31 walks while striking out 86 batters. He’s on regular, four-days' rest."
The Orioles have been decent labeled as a home favorite going for the 3 game home sweep... since 2004, they are 21-8, 9-0 in their L9 and 2-0 this year.
Meanwhile, the Mariners seem to be in a probable nasty situation tonight. As a road dog, following a game where they allowed 8 or more runs, they are (since '04) 27-81 SU. Since the 2009 season, they are 3-30 SU and 0-6 this year. Losing by an average margin of 2.6 runs.
Further, following a game where the allowed 12 or more hits, the Mariners as a road dog are 33-98 SU since 2004. Since the 2008 season, they are 9-49 SU again losing by an average margin of 2.6 runs. They are 2-7 this year in this situation.
Finally, Mariners left a ton on base last night. Since the Aug of 2008, they are 0-10 following a game where they left 13 or more men on base.
It appears -127 is a reasonable price here. Anyone have additional info. on Steve Johnson? I heard Hunter will be available in the pen if needed. He was scratched due to a late warmup last night.
