miami @ atlanta? DID THE LINE JUST REALLY MOVE THAT MUCH!?!?

The line for Miami +1.5 was at -125. Now its at -140. Did anyone notice this huge movement as well? Are people betting miami?

I noticed this as well. I'll be the first to say that line movements are not the be-all and end-all to making a play. However, this type of movement, with 80 percent or so of the public on Atl, makes you wonder.

It's still a game I'm just going to watch from the sidelines.

BOL to the fish backers. I suspect their bp will give it away and Atl squeaks out a win.

One more thing: it could be the scalpers selling their position.

They bought Atl last night at the opener of -178. When the line moved to -200 or so at most offshores, they went the other way.

No - just to guarantee a small profit at zero risk.

Late steam can be the result of many factors. If the 1st inning is indication, this particular game could be an example of late steam from smart money. But NOT all late steam falls under this category.

Maybe. Or they knew the public would pound Atl as the market matures and they can buy low/sell high.

Just keep in mind that NOT all late steam results from scalpers. It's a mistake to think that all late steam are caused by the same factor.

Gotta run and cap tonight's card. If you do a search engine query for scalping in sports betting, you should find some informative stuff. Just know most books frown on that behaviour.
