Under 7.5 with Travis wood on the mound? With a number of 7.5 this better be 2 top pitchers like wainwright and dempster not Travis wood. Cards could hit 8 by themselves, especially vs a leftie. Cubs should be able to muster up atleast 2-3. The rest is history!

    Let's go!

The number was just released a few hours ago. No surprise in the fluctuation.

Under 7.5 is a "square" play with Lynn and Wood pitching? How do you figure? Don't you think the number is set low (opened at 8) for a reason?

Do you wanna depend on the Cards to get 8 runs whose sitting a few of there hitters? Can't expect to much help from the Cubs here the way Lynn is pitching.

wood gave up 6 ER in 6, Lynn no runs. These guys played recently. 7-0 final.

line opens at 8. down to 7.5.

books arent giving you free money. people are going to want to pound the over. and majority has.

you got a lefty who's era lately is awful against the best hitting team in mlb that smokes them

either you think about it or not and just go with the favourite and over here

Wont need Cards to get 8 runs. Cubs will get 2-3 here to push it over.

Not a hot day, cloudy, wind blowing in kind of, not the best conditions for an over at Wrigley.

We have a unique situation in this matchup involving revenge, specially 2, 3 and 4 game revenge which based on a historical stand point highlights the Cubs and somewhat toward the under.

    Since the 2010 season

The Cubs are 7-0 revenging two straight loses of 6 or more, with an average win margin of 3 runs. Cubs were 4-0 in this situation last year with a win margin of 3 runs. (Dempster out dueled Westbrook 6-3 on 7/31/2011.

    Since the 2011 season

Cubs are 23-11 at home revenging two straight loses. The under is 23-9 (average total 8.7). They are 8-5 this year with an average line of +117. Garza out dueled Garcia on 4/23/12. The under is 7-5

Cubs are 14-3 at home revenging three straight loses. The under is 12-4 (average total 8.4) They are 6-2 this year with an average line of +114. Average win margin is 2.5 runs. The over is 4-3.

    Since 6/13/10

Cubs are 9-1 at home revenging four straight loses. The under 7-2 (average total 8.3). They are 5-1 this year with an average line of +115. Average win margin is 2.8 runs. The under is 3-2.

Not going to mess with the total, but @+152 I'll make a 2% wager. GL

I liked the over at first, but something tells me the Cubs win this game 3-2 or something similar. I'm going with a Cubs +150/U8 Parlay.

Not sure about the total -- seems suspiciously low to me -- but you have to nibble on the Cubs for Ron Santo day.

Good start. Takes balls to go over on a low public total like this (which completely rejects the original thought process of the thread, but I digress).

Honestly. Just a hunch and gut feeling. Can't continue dominance forever. Especially if your lance Lynn?

Lance Lynn is very good, and will continue to be in the near future. He's no fluke.

With that being said, he's a rookie and it's late July. Regression is inevitable.
