Turner was #1 prospect in organization but Sanchez is proven pitcher. Great deal for both sides

Tigers invested alot in Turner already, and was their top prospect 2 years running.

21 years old... where was verlander at 21? not even drafted yet.

can't believe true Tiger fans aren't a bit worried about the desperation and the hit the "future" took

well even if all 3 of these prospects bust... the tigers took a financial hit...

and they have no one to replace their projected 2015 #2 starter...

#21 prospect or whatever he was in all of baseball with a near $10 million investment can't just be "shrugged off"

its all or nothing this year with the Tigers.

I hope you guys do well

They didn't have to give up Castellanos so I am cool with it. I have watched Turner pitch and one day he may get better but he just reminds me of another Rick Porcello. Kid with a lot of hype that will never be past an average starter. Smyly actually is there best pitching prospect along with Crosby. With Dombrowski at helm you never know who your going to get. One thing is for sure he always will be aggressive in trades and free agency, so not worried about 2015 pitching rotation.

    good points....

I just knew that Turner was BA's top tiger prospect the last two years PRESEASON.

Castellanos has really rocketed up this... in fact I think he was on BA's top 50 midseason report in the teens or better...

The Flynn kid i'd never heard of.. but a 6'8 250 lb lefty at age 22.. you never know..

I just feel like the Tigers are gonna have spend phillies/yanks level money over the next decade to keep a good mlb product. they already were in the bottom 3rd of farm system talent. Now they traded two of their 2012 preseason top 7 prospects in Turner and Brantley...

lot of roster spots to fill for 2013 right? don't they have alot of expiring contracts?

I mean its a gamble.. I get that..

the upside of this trade is maybe gain 1-2 games at most via infante and what? 2-3 games with Sanchez?

Sanchez is gone after this year? and Infante you are stuck with... (look at his WAR and splits since may ended)

I know Sanchez is a big upgrade for them at 2n but hell Deuce would be an upgrade for the tigers...

but the upside for the Marlins is REAL high. but yeah all 3 of those kids could go busto

I'm worried because of how awful our farm system is. That was the case even before this trade.

It was a great trade for Tigers. Jacob Turner ended up being garbage.

People here think they are GM's.
