    league average of putting up a run in 1st inning is 31%, Giants offense is right at 30% , while Hamels always a run in the first just 22% of the time. Phillies offense 34% while Cain, gives up a run in first 23% of time.


    so those are very favorable numbers.

    I just checked in to this thread. Tough beat, Zoo. FWIW, at the beginning of this season, I back tested some 1st-inning run/no run models and it (IMO) is a roulette wheel.

    IF the games were played about 20 minutes apart, and IF the pitching/batting lines up favorably, you might have an edge. However, as we all know many of these games start at the same time or within minutes of each other.

    I completely scrapped the idea of betting 1st-inning runs. Also, I realize this is too little too late, however, Cain's ERA is higher in his road starts. He's like Weaver in that he's more predictable at home.

    ^^^Did you just see the home run...by Hamels? And I never stated that either Cain or Hamels was going to sh!t the bed. I gave a statistical fact: Cain's era is higher in his road games.

    You've been in this forum for a while, and I can't help but notice about half your posts are full of sh!t. You rarely, if ever, give insight or information that other cappers may find helpful. You just come in with (what you think to be) pithy comments.

    Post a play from time to time. Or contribute in a positive manner to a capper who takes the effort and trouble to research and share a play.
