    Timmmmmmmmmmmy!

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Lincecum has been absolutely terrible this year, with his 69 earned runs allowed tied with Baltimore's Jake Arrieta for most in the majors, while his 6.42 ERA is the highest among any qualifying pitcher

    • Lincecum has gone 5-0 with a 1.14 ERA in eight career starts versus the Houston Astros, going at least six innings in seven of those efforts
    • His 1.14 ERA is the lowest against any opponent he's faced with a minimum of 50 innings pitched
    • Lincecum earned a 15-2 road win over the Milwaukee Brewers on July 7, 2010 in his only career start in umpire Brian Knight's strike zone (7 IP, 10 K)

A lot to like if he can get past his troubles in the first and fourth innings (38 runs allowed, 19 each)

Who cares what this bum's past numbers are vs. anyone?

If you'd go by that, you'd be broke by now backing him this season.

Can't disagree with your statement about being broke in backing him - Lincecum (-1,138) is ahead of only Cliff Lee (-1,241) in most money lost this season for starting pitchers

Yeah. Should he beat the Astros? Of course. Will he? Good luck laying that kind of chalk here.

This has to be Stros here at that price. Harrell pitching real good in his last couple outings as well.

Last quality outing on the road was against the Dodgers on May 25 (Kemp out of the lineup)

    5-1, 1.99 ERA at home
2-5, 6.59 ERA on the road

My bad Jeff I meant his last couple outings which were at home. Forgot about his last one in Pitt where he got lit up pretty well. Anyone know what the weather will be like tonight at the stadium? The over sounds almost too easy here.

    56 degrees at first pitch

Not sure that temperature is going to help Harrell either

The other factor is how Timay responds to the teams threat of holding him out a start if he fukks tonight up. This could do enough to really get him locked in or his teammates could rally around him and bring it extra hard tonight in this spot.

Think I'm just gonna ride out what I have for the day. Nothing in the late games has me too excited. However if I had a gun to my head the ov in Frisco and maybe the Mariners look like decent plays. GL guys and Jeff as always I enjoy your write-ups. Thanks!

Jeff your insight is always appreciated.

Didn't bet this one but will always root for this Giants team after what they did in 2010. I hope Lincecum can turn it around in second half here.

I'm glad for Timmy he did get it locked in tonight and responded well. However thi is just the Stros AAA offense he's gonna hve to keep it up against better competition going forward.

Giants are a real threat in the division as is. If Lincecum can shape up to a .600 win pctg in second half look out.

Glad to see this performance tonight but it's the Astros I am not getting too optimistic yet.
