The video shows that he was mad at himself, not the call.

    Terrible ejection.

the replay showed that the ump made the correct call. Tie goes to the runner

but quick triggers on the two ejections.

    Joe West's crew

so do you pitch zach again tomorrow or wait unil the buccos after the break?

how do you determine that via replay? did your feed have an angle inside zach's brain?

You can tell from demeanor. He walked away from the umpire and looked away from the umpire.

If he was upset at the ump, he most likely gets in his face after the play. Spiking the ball seems like more of a 'shit, 1 run already and I don't have an out to the pathetic astros.'

    "seems'

if he said the magic word loud enough for the ump to hear, that's all she wrote.

hopefully someone talks in post game interviews about what the ump said

You guys couldn't umpire little league and don't know shit about the profession. Stick to something you know a little bit about and STFU about umpiring.

You a certified MLB umpire? Didn't think so.

Brewers manager had the point to make here. Holbrook pretty much threw Greinke out without even looking at what happened. If you look at the picture of the ump as Greinke is spiking the ball, the ump is looking over towards the runner and 1st base. Basically, tossed him because of what he thought happened. Like I said before, they hold players accountable in booting them - they should hold umps accountable for terrible calls.

Yeah... just like when I go to Wendy's and they leave out one of the 2 things I ordered... 'You guys don't know what its like to work in fast food so STFU.'

houston just lost lee, on a big losing streak, back at home

greinke gets ejected in the 1st inning.... so the worst relievers in baseball can pitch?? a little too fishy given that Brewers had 75% action of them!

maybe im just paranoid, glad i didn't touch this game

Greinke did the classy thing and apologized and took the blame

But right after the ejection he was clearly saying "i was mad at myself"

I think both guys were to blame in this case, watching it live i thought it was horrible by the ump, but in his defense he had no way of knowing whether greinke was objecting to the call or just frustrated with himself

Greinke left the umpire no choice. Shit like that can't happen. Otherwise it becomes a bush league where players draw lines on the field every time they strike out and don't like the call.

You guys can whine all you want but the umpire won't be disciplined. And Grienke will never do that again either.

a warning is no punishment at all. sucks that you take one of the best pitchers in baseball out before he even gets going, but greinke didn't have to act like a 2 year old either.

    blame umpire 51%

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers on Sunday completed a quiet weekend in the company of veteran umpire Joe West.
This marked the first time West, a crew chief, had worked a series with the Rangers since a piece in USA Today in which he kiddingly chided Adrian Beltre for his habit of insisting every called strike is a ball. West had third base on Friday night and had a friendly conversation with Beltre throughout the game.

Beltre said he has no problems with West and appreciates him. Beltre accepted that West made the comment in jest.
"Everything is OK, and it always has been," said manager Jeff Banister, whom West ejected on June 18. "Joe's a great umpire and a good person. One of the more colorful characters in the game. I was more concerned with Joe based on what happened in Milwaukee than anything else."

On June 30, West was struck in the back of the head by a baseball thrown from the stands at Milwaukee's Miller Park.

West is undeniably one of the worst Umpires in the league.
