The San Diego Padres are absolutely terrible, but sometimes they do surprise bettors by winning a game here and there, and starting pitcher Jason Marquis is in one of his best situational spots.

Marquis has compiled a 10-6 record and 3.62 ERA in 21 games (20 starts) at Coors Field as a visiting pitcher and a member of the Colorado Rockies. Those numbers may seem average at first glance, but let's remember the video game-type numbers that are being posted this year in the Mile High City.

Colorado left-hander Jeff Francis has also fared pretty well at this venue, now that he's back with the home club, going 30-23 with a 4.68 ERA in 74 career starts at this ballpark.

Francis hasn't come close to replicating those numbers in 2012, posting an 0-1 mark and 10.80 ERA in two starts, and he's gone 5-13 with a 5.65 ERA in 22 career starts versus the Padres.

Great value in the current MLB betting odds on the Padres
