    He roided, but I'm not down with him as a criminal. It's an interesting juxtaposition with the Sandusky case going on. Sandusky needs to be turned to dust, literally or figuratively. I think we'll survive Clemens walking the streets. If he actually didn't lie in the halls of Congress, he's in the vast minority.

    That is the bottom line issue with regard to his reputation and the HOF, not whether he "got off" on a criminal charge (which has a much higher burden of proof) because McNamee has zero credibility. The evidence still exists and is damning. He deserves the same, if not more, skeptcism as McGwire, Palmeiro, etc. because he is an absolute liar. The fact that he bought and bullied his way out of any criminal conviction is beside the point.

    wait, Clemens played baseball in pursuit of a big rep and the Hall of Fame? i always thought that he just wanted a couple of decades in the AL to throw at guys' heads without fear of reprisals (well, against him personally; i'm sure that his teammates appreciated being put at risk so that Clemens could be a faux tough guy) and an excuse to give his kids dumbass names that start with the letter "K." that pussy makes Pedro Martinez look Bob Gibson.
