    Tigers SP Justin Verlander is a High-Priced Road Favorite Versus the Cubs

    Here's some information to help you decide if he's worth playing today:
    • Verlander has suffered a loss in his last three decisions, the first time that's happened since dropping four consecutive from Aug. 27-Sept. 20, 2008
    • The right-hander is 16-2 with a 2.76 ERA in 22 career interleague starts, ranking first among active pitchers in wins in that category since 2006
    • Worked six-or-more innings in each of his last 55 starts, solid statistic for five-inning players
    • He earned a 9-3 road win in his only start against the Cubs on June 17, 2006, allowing nine hits and a run over 5.2 innings
    • The Tigers are 10-1 in Verlander's last 11 road starts against a team with a losing home record
