Who will win the World Series of Baseball?

As far as I'm concerned, this is the one and only World Series (sorry poker fans). I think the Yankees have the AL locked up. I'm rooting for the Dodgers in the NL. Subway series? Sorry Mets fans...I don't think so.

This might get more votes if moved to the main forum for a few days, imo.

I don't think the yankees win it this year IMO. I have to see who is playing who, and where before I can even think about making a prediction like this.

It's become so trendy to say the Yankees won't win the World Series. Everyone knows the Yankees are the obvious choice but everyone wants to sound like experts so they pick another team. If the Yankees are to lose it will be to the A's, no way the NL wins the World Series..

Not trying to be trendy or not, I just don't think their mediocre pitching and with Gay Rod the Anti-Clutch plugging the middle of the order will translate into a championship. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it.

    I know your not trendy

Everyone on ESPN is predicting the Yankees win the WS. And ESPN is never wrong.

Whoever wins the first round series Chris Berman covers. That team has gone on to win the WS like 5 years in a row.

I believe this is the one time the favorite actually cashes. No one has the pitching to shut that lineup down. Oakland comes close, but their bats just aren't good enough.

i think arod needs to talk more shit and just let it all out

screw the clean cut image, he is getting blasted regardless

i think it would be good therapy for him to just run his mouth at will and say what he wants

people will say, oooohh he really has to play well now that he ran his mouth.....buuuzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!

he has to play well in the playoffs no matter what he does

he needs to quit being uptight and tell people to f*ck off

It would be about time if Oakland makes it past the first round.

Why is everyone so big on the A's??
I dont see them getting to the ALCS, and if they do, the Yanks are gonna kill them...
I think the Cards, Mets, Twins, Dogers are all better teams than the A's...

Probably due to the fact that not everybody values the same things when looking at teams. Some people put more weight on offense, some on starting pitching, some on bullpen depth, etc.

The only major downside I see to an Oakland run is their past history during the playoffs, but patterns and trends don't last forever. Ask Red Sox nation.

At least the Braves aren't there. I'll pick the Tigers for the hell of it.

Im going to stick with the Twins. I liked them back when some said they had no chance to challenge for the AL Central.

I change my vote. This Oakland squad has all the intangibles of a loser. They'll probably lose a series without giving up an earned run.

Well, they got out of that inning somehow, so they're forgiven for now. Leadoff double for Kielty, let's see if they bunt him over this time.

I like the balance of pitching and hitting in Minnesota. I think they are a team that sets up well for the postseason especially taking into account their homefield advantage during the playoffs. If they had Liriano, they'd be a very easy pick.
