The Twins are the play tonight in Boston when they face Curt Schilling and the Red Sox.
In this contest we simply cannot pass up the hottest team in Major League Baseball, the Minnesota Twins, at a nice underdog price. With a win tonight (and a Detroit loss), the Twins can claim first place in a very tough NL Central, a feat that at one time seemed impossible.
The task won't be easy facing Boston starter Curt Schilling. But upon closer look, Schilling seems to be running out of gas at this point in the season. He has an ERA of 5.88 over his last nine starts and has given up at least four runs or more in six of them. The Red Sox have lost his last five starts.
Minnesota starter Boof Bonser hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in his last seven starts and the Twins have won three straight games in which he has started.
These are two teams going in opposite directions. Boston can actually be eliminated from the postseason tonight and Minnesota has won all four meetings against the Red Sox this season. The play is on the Twins.
