    Gary Mathews Jr.

Gary Mathews Jr. I see hit for the cycle tonight. I really never realized it before, this kid has really had a solid year this year I feel. He might even have an outside shot at a gold glove too I hear.

Yeah, I was watching that game when it happen.

The cool thing about it, he hit in order.

Single, Double, Triple and then the Home Run.

How many have done it in order like that? Thats like a reversable royal flush on video slots. Has to be worth more, or more impressive.

That's even more impressive. I was willing him to get the homer in the 6th and up it popped and then they took him out of the game.

I have only seen it done in order once when Jose Valentine did it for Chicago a few years ago.

Very impressive feat, whether he did it in order or not. I've only been at the park and seen it live one time, by Jeff Bagwell back in 2001 in a wild and wooly game versus the Cards.

The only other guy besides Mathews and Jose Valentin that I can think of off the top of my head is Bob Watson who did it in order for the Red Sox back in the late 70s. When he did it, he became the only player to hit for cycles in both the NL and AL.

I'm not sure, but I think Cesar Tovar is the only guy who has ever hit for the cycle with his homer being a walkoff job
