    Alex Smart: Astros +130

    Alex Smart: Astros +130

Andy Pettitte and the Astros are the play tonight in St. Louis against the Cardinals.

Andy Pettitte (13-13, 4.34 ERA) the Astros veteran starting hurler has looked tremendous of late allowing just 13 ERs in his last nine starts spanning 54 innings. Pettitte has allowed no more than three earned runs in three separate starts against St.Louis this season.

Jared Weaver, his Cards pitching opponent, has been an inconsistent contributor since being acquired from the LA Angels. He has shown some flashes of stability, but is always a candidate every time he takes to the hill.

With the Cards bats struggling against southpaws like Pettitte is will be easy for me to back the Astros as underdogs here this evening. Note: Cardinals are 5-11 in their last 16 games vs. a left-handed starter.

    Play: Astros +130

Where are you getting this+130 from? Pinnaclae has the stros at -102 and I dont think the line could have moved that much. It doesnt make sense that Pettitite would be that big of a dog to a pitcher that is a dog like weaver....jeff weaver that is. Now if it actualy was Jared in there I would look at doing something with this game.

that was the first thing i noticed myself Bulldog.

I happen to like the Astros in this game. I don't think Pettitte is hurt as bad as they claim he was, otherwise he wouldn't have missed that start last night. Lets not forget that it's still Jeff Weaver who's pitching tonight. We all know he's good for giving up 5 runs tonight.

I'll take the Cards at home, even with Weaver.

I dont know bbd, as I said before Im gonna pass...
But even if Pettite pitches well Weaver has been hard to track and when you least expect it he throws a gem out there...
Not to mention the Astros' offense...
There is some value in Houston though so I know what youre saying...
Not +130 value though, I think Alex aint that smart after all...
    Bad joke...

Tough break for you Astros backers. I try and stay away from them because they have burned too many times this season.
