big losing streaks by mlb teams with huge free agent signings

    this is hilarious

**detroit gets prince fielder, is pretty much handed the division by every analyst out there, now 4 losses in a row
**la angels get pujols, sit in last place with 4 losses in a row
**miami gets a new stadium and reyes, sit in last place with 5 losses in a row

i know it's early but it's never good to be 9 games back

The Orioles are in first place.

    See what I did there?

It's VERY early. Only the Pirates have scored fewer runs than the Marlins. Their BABIP is low. They'll regress to the mean.

    As will DET and LAA.

Mike Big Salary players mean nothing in baseball in terms of winning especially hitters

yeah quite often a big money free agent like pujols or fielder is already past their prime

The loud swoosh you heard was the point you missed going over your head ( whether BAL was in 1st or 2nd place is irrelevant to my point).

really? so it's irrelevant that your point was totally untrue?

yes it's very early, i get that and i pointed it out. but over 66% of the teams in first place on june 1st make the postseason. if you think the la angels or miami will still win the division i will take the other side of the angels at -400 and miami at -800

LAA just sucks. watch them every night locally. They are lifeless @ the plate. Only guy will any bounce in his step is Trumbo.

fair enough. but the angels and marlins have already played themselves out of the postseason. the chances of the angels being 10 games better than texas the rest of the way are about the same as me winning the lottery.
