There are times when the pitching match-up is so bad that any team's lineups will take advantage. That is precisely the case tonight. Even though the Red Sox lineup has been struggling to produce they should tee off on Perez tonight. As for the Royals, they generally struggle offensively on the road but they will enjoy success against Jarvis who has seen his better days.
Note that a lot of the recent offensive struggles the Red Sox have suffered was due to injuries. They are finally returning to full health and they are facing a Royals hurler who is returning to his normal struggles. After surprising with a couple of decent outings Perez has quickly regressed and is starting to get hit hard again.
As for Jarvis he has never been the same since the decent year he had with San Diego a few years back. This is another case of the Red Sox taking a big time "flier" on a guy just because they are so desperate for pitching right now. The Royals do have decent pop in their lineup and facing a guy who doesn't have dominating stuff will open up the floodgates for the Kansas City offense.
Fenway Park is conducive to high scoring games and this pitching match-up will allow both lineups to light up the scoreboard.
