    Minnesota Twins (113)

    Minnesota Twins (113)

Justin Verlander got the best of the Twins twice much earlier this season. It's payback time now, and the Twins are going to be a tough dawg for the first place Tigers to tame over the next four days.

Minny's been quite the story in '06. They got off to a horrendous start, but have been playing some of the best ball of anyone in the league the last few months. They're almost unbeatable at home, going 45-22 on the year, and are always a great proposition whenever installed as underdogs in their own house.

It's become painfully evident that Detroit is running out of steam down the stretch. They still own the best record in the AL but have lost 19 of their L/28 games. Their once 10-game lead in the division has been shrunk all the way down to just four games, and the Minnesota Twins have been the team that's really been breathing down their neck.

Grab the plus scratch as MGR. Gardenhire's club knows it could be tied for first if they sweep this enormous series.
