    newbie to baseball betting

    Hey,

this will be my first year betting MLB...I'm from Toronto, Can anyone recommend maybe a book or some tips...mistakes beginners make...anything that might help. I know some guys use "sabermetrics"...I'll be flat betting 1/2 unit i usually bet NBA with 1/4 what i bet NHL on. I got to get to know the sport alot better...and i dont feel like dropping a few k learning. Don't want to tail anyone....just want to start learning to cap mlb if I can.

Appreciate any tips, advice or book ideas...I already bought "the Book"

Thanks in advance to anyone willing help me out here.

Best MLB books IMO are Pinny, 5dimes, and Matchbook. You'll find almost all lines between those 3 books to be the best 95% of the time or more.

Bet faves as early as possible. It seems to me like they usually get pounded on hard near game time and I have found many times that I end up getting -130 or so on a game that ends up being -160 or worse.
