Devil Rays vs. White Sox

Freddy Garcia gets the call tonight, and he's coming off one of his better efforts where he went into the sixth inning against the Tigers and allowed the Sox to stay in the game even after surrendering a couple run leads early on.

He's fared very well against Tampa in his career compiling a 6-2 mark with a solid 3.40 ERA. The same can't be said for Casey Fossum whom the White Sox tagged last year for 7 runs and 11 hits in 6 innings in the only confrontation with him.
Devil Rays vs. White Sox

Look for more of the same tonight as the Sox bats have recently been awoken scoring 7,10, 4, 7, and 6 runs in their last 5 games overall. They're coming off a huge series with the Minnesota Twins that saw them fail big time and lose their lead in the wild card race. They now sit a half game back after holding that same lead going into Friday night's game, and know the Twins are hosting the Royals for a three game set. The Twins are the best home team in all of baseball, so the Sox know they must win all three of these games against the woeful Rays just to remain at least a half game back.

Here's to hoping the White Sox fare better against the Devil Rays than the Texas Rangers did last week. With Garcia's past success against Tampa, and the suddenly potent Sox bats, I have no problem laying the 1.5 in this spot in the opener of this series that they need to sweep.
