Cubs vs. Pirates

Shockingly, Carlos Zambrano lost his only start of the season against the Pirates this year, but the game was a day after the Cubs played a double header against Arizona and their defense failed them.

Carlos is 7-2 in his career against the Buccos with a 3.14 ERA, and the Cubs have won
8 of the 12 times he's started against Pittsburgh. Look for him to bounce back with a decisive effort vs. the Pirates tonight, and add to his solid career stats against this franchise.

The Cubs 2006 campaign hasn't seen many bright spots, but the pitching performance of Carlos Zambrano is one of the things they can build upon for next season. He's quickly become one of the best in the business, and comes into tonight's game on top of his game. He stopped the Cubs losing streak his last time out and helped the Cubs avoid the 4-game sweep at the hands of the Phillies by going 7 innings and only allowing 2 earned runs while striking out 7 and walking 1.

He's in search of his 15th win of the season tonight, so a solid pitching performance is expected. The Buccos don't stand a chance!
