    Twins Will Win Again

The Twins return home atop the AL Wildcard race and looking for more against the Blue Jays.

The Minnesota Twins return home tonight in the AL Wildcard lead. Coming off a successful road trip that included a sweep in Kansas City and taking two of three from the Tigers in Detroit, Minnesota is 13-5 in home series openers this season.

Despite the 6-1 road trip, not all of the news was rosy for the Twins. Rookie left-hander Francisco Liriano is going to the DL with elbow trouble, and without him Minnesota will need to find an arm to step up. Carlos Silva might be that arm. After a slow start to the season that saw his ERA over 10 in April, Silva has settled down to win his last three starts and four of his last five. An absolute control freak in the past, Silva has issued just one walk in his last 18.1 innings.

Silva’s opposition in this one, Toronto's Ted Lilly, is in rocky current form having lost his last two starts.

Minnesota is 30-15 against AL East opposition the last two seasons, so we'll stay at home with the Twins here tonight.
