The Yankees stroll into the Windy City as the AL's hottest team winning eight of their last 10 and 16 of 22 since the break. Could this be the ALCS preview many predicted back in April?

NEW YORK -110 (WANG) VS. CHICAGO (GARCIA) 8:05 ET

Chicago lost its second in a row last night against Los Angeles in their rescheduled game from May that was rained out. They looked decent at Toronto over the weekend, but the BJ's are clearly a team going through a bit of a funk right now, and were clearly outplayed last night by a hot Angels team. The Yankees are the exact team the White Sox don't want to face right now. They're on fire, and they improved themselves at the trade deadline while the South Siders did nothing to improve their club. Their bats have really faltered of late, and it's caught up to the pitching since its been putrid all season long. Chicago's dealing with a bunch of tired arms that made a tremendous run a year ago, and could be in the midst of the death blow that finds them spectating the Fall Classic instead of participating in it. Yankee hurler Chen Mien Wang has been fantastic his L/5 starts going 5-0 and pitching a total of 38 innings while only giving up 7 earned runs. The White Sox have lost 5 of the L/6 games started by Freddy Garcia, and 4 of the L/5 games he's started at home. The Yanks now own a 2-game lead on the Red Sox in the East, and know they have to bring their "A" game with them to Chicago with Boston in KC for three as the lead could be erased if they don't. The only thing the Sox have going for them in this series is the home crowd, but that's nothing new to this grisly set of vets. They own the better pitching, bats, and bullpen tonight. Don't be hesitant laying the chalk in the defending champs backyard. It's the right side!!!

SLAM YOUR MAN!!!
