    randy johnson a closer ?

i'm starting to really feel that randy johnson might be a better closer at this stage of his career. as a starting pitcher at this stage of his career is very shakey right now from start to start.

The same talk sparked up a year or so ago about Pedro Martinez as well. I think some of these older Aces should consider it once their production goes downward as a starter. They cant go on throwing 70 to 100 pitches every 4 to 5 days.

look what dennis eckersley did when he was washed up as a starter. if johnson became a closer, he could probly extend his career about 3 or 4 more years even at his age.

You could say the same about John Smoltz. He was a dominate closer after his starting role. Then went back to starting again.
